The Peugeot 208 in competition begins to take shape and as a reality. The first of the series, R2, and has debuted at the recent Tour de Corse. After and before the end of this year 012, “will be birthed” another R2 for Peugeot Sport meetings and a 208 R5 (in September) to replace the 207 Super 2000 on national and international championships.

The R2 208 is the ideal car to debut in competition or enjoy the race. Rolled for the first time in late 2011 to replace the current 207 RC Rallye. Peugeot Sport has the clear goal of becoming the new benchmark in the category, both in performance as operating cost. Another goal was to simplify the number of parts required for processing soil/asphalt.

As a good sport, the Evora GTC may be approved to participate in the MSA Endurance Series and Grand-Am GTC as well as in the British Touring Car Championship, vdev Series, Dutch Supercar and CREVENTIC resistance, as the 24 Hours of Dubai or Bathurst 12 hour.

No data on autonomy and how to solve the electric propulsion. We know, yes-and it’s no-nonsense, that comfort for the driver when to recharge at home is great because it eliminates wires and opt for wireless recharging, a convenience that will have to fight with the classic problems of lack of infrastructure associated with these systems. Hopefully, and failing to disclose that price, who can afford to buy an Infiniti LE, no problems to install an induction cooktop at home. This is the path followed by many manufacturers in the future, and Infiniti makers have opted for it openly.

What we can talk to you about at the moment is the appearance of this Infiniti LE, and the truth is that the model of the company Nippon arouses conflicting passions. The same thing its futuristic cut can be praised that to see in it sobriety that to compare it with the Hyundai Elantra that to consider it a complex stylistic exercise of uncertain course. Nothing to do with its confrere Emerg-E.

It has aspect of what intends to be: a saloon. That is to say, adds to the already large range of electric power does not appear. Their presence is usually car for use in day to day, despite these geniuses waveform that stand too much on the sides, and wheels are aggressively spectacular car that maybe not accurate.

Turning to its interior, we see that light and balance between luxury and simplicity. The appearance of the trim and, in general, its finish is pretty close to perfection, highlighting seats whose comfort and ergonomic feel in the body so nice to just see them on screen. For now, we’ve told this is what is called the Infiniti LE. Once you have more, we will inform you promptly.

In January a Japanese company present a preview of a strange electric vehicle. It was called SIM-LEI and had a design of those who do not leave indifferent. There were those who applauded it greatly and called it vulgar hand vacuum. But the most interesting of the car was inside. During the presentation, its designers said they had an exceptional autonomy (for power) of 305 km/h.

Why we return to a car that was first introduced five months ago? Because now SIM-Drive, the Japanese consortium behind the development of SIM-LEI, has announced the SIM-WIL, an evolution of the first model to earn in the presence (except for the very fans of vacuum cleaners) … and still longer their distance without looking for a plug: 351 km of autonomy. One of the eight major handicaps of the electrical could begin to resolve.

It may seem strange that SIM-Drive announces new electric cars so soon after presenting the first, but is that the consortium’s goal is not to production cars, but they say on their website: “provide the highest level of technology electric vehicles and all information”. In other words, creating the perfect electric car. In fact, the word WIL represents the sense of will.

What a difference from the previous design! It has lost 4% of its weight, to 1,580 kg. And now its maximum speed (if anyone cares about this in a prototype electric, 180 km/h (30km/h as above). The acceleration from 0-100 km/h, has been reduced from 5.4 up to 4.8 seconds. But the key fact is that the capacity of the lithium ion battery has gone from 24.9 kWh to 35.1 kWh, with a time of three hours charge.

Here are the remaining specifications:

• Dimensions : 4150 x 1715 x 1550 mm. (From SIM-Drive say that to be a small car, the SIM-WIL is surprisingly roomy on the inside).
• Seats : 5.
• Outer rotor drive directly on the wheels of the motor.
• Drive: 4WD.
• Minimum turning radius : 5.4 m (17.7 ft)
• Energy (JC08 mode): 99.7 Wh/km

Undoubtedly, the autonomy of 351 km is impressive and leaves behind electric tasted as the Nissan Leaf or Peugeot iOn. Still below the 510 km that a Tesla Roadster reached in 2009, but this car will be in another price range. And how much could go? In November last year, a modification of the Citroen Berlingo broke the record of autonomy to achieve (the data eye) 999 km of autonomy and working over 17 hours. We must clarify that in fact it was a van loaded with 10 lithium batteries (with a total capacity of 180 kWh). So in 2012 have a range exceeding 350 km in a five-seater, when it seemed that not until 2020 would reach 300 km, can be considered a milestone. And yes, the car is!

The vehicle must carry a driver and a passenger to move, but the tests will help determine whether the car can be used safely with traffic and actual circumstances.

The state of Nevada ( USA ) has become a pioneer in the field of cars with autopilot this week by granting registration certificates for vehicles equipped with the technology produced by Google. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV, in English) of Nevada on Monday granted the first license to Google to try your car with automatic pilot in a real traffic environment, and so far the tests performed by the company had Internet taken place in controlled way.

“The system regulates the brakes, throttle and steering wheel”, said DMV spokesman, Tom Jacobs, who said the technology drive of Google is still under evaluation. Google has at least 8 cars tailored to your autopilot, 6 are Toyota Prius, one is an Audi TT and Lexus RX450 is another. Authorities in Nevada passed a law in 2011 to authorize the processing of licenses for cars with driver automatic. That policy, however, it requires a person behind the wheel and one on the passenger seat during the test vehicle movements.

The car goes automatic to manual control when the driver depresses the brake or turn the wheel. Google announced plans to car with driver auto in 2010 and created a prototype able to guide the use of their maps that year which was tested successfully in California.
