Oxford engineers presented the ‘Wildcat’ a car using sensors, is conducted independently, without the need for a pilot. Their orientation does not require GPS or remote systems.

A group of scientists in this important British university, along with the automaker Nissan and BAE Systems, developed the ‘Wildcat’ which is a robotic vehicle that allows the driver to be seated in any way without the need to put their hands on the wheel, pedals or buttons to move, be aware of traffic or road conditions.

The operation of the vehicle is automated through sensors, cameras, laser and radar that make the ‘Wildcat’ is conducted independently, without any human intervention, and only through the coordination of all the information they record their instruments. Read more…

The History of Armored cars

May 12, 2011 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - Car Research

The history of armored vehicles is more than a century old, and its development is almost parallel to that of the battle tank.

armored vehicle

The bulletproof car was first invented by an American in the year 1898. However, not much interest was shown by the U.S. Army at that time. And, from that point, the lead in the development of armoured vehicles.

But the first armored vehicle to be used in battle originated in Italy. The first use of armored vehicle was in the 1911-12 Italian-Turkish War, waged by Italy against the Ottoman Empire. And, it was during this war that airships were first used in order to bomb ground targets. Belgium used armored vehicle for the first time in the World Ward I, and was soon joined by the British, who improved the vehicles. And, it was the British who first brought the fully armored vehicle, the tank to the battleground in France against the invading German army. Read more…

The whole point about the electric car with battery

March 21, 2011 :: Posted by - admin1 :: Category - Car Research

Auto engineers are not convinced by the electric drive with batteries – at least not in the near future. Very clear: the apocalypse of Fukushima will change the world as the 11th September. Unreserved confidence in technology and so it will be more. The rich people have enough of the promises that “The pension is safe” from to “Nuclear power is safe.” Too often were and are critical questioners handled with banal answers. That is still true today.

Let’s take critical questions about the safety of batteries in electric or hybrid vehicles that hardly anyone is. Repeatedly flashed on a website on the problem when a car was burnt with battery. Addressed the issue is really not the car manufacturers. Too much they want the policy under the moral pressure to advance electric vehicles. Electric vehicles, the experts behind closed doors will only be a success across the board, if the current can be generated on board with the fuel cell. Battery vehicles have many problems. Whether they will ever be solved remains questionable. Read more…

Car theft and vandalism on the rise

November 16, 2010 :: Posted by - admin :: Category - Car Research

Research by Money Supermarket suggests that car theft and vandalism is on the increase, with car owners in Kent being three times more likely to be the victims of such crime than the average area. Manchester, Sheffield and Bradford also made the list of top ten places where car owner’s vehicles are most at risk marking the sad decline of British society.

Who is most at risk?

Rather predictably, statistics suggest that top of the range or soft top models are the ones most likely to be targeted by vandals and thieves, with statistics showing that the top ten cars most are risk are:

1.BMW Z3
2.Chrysler Crossfire
3.Porsche Cayenne
4.Porsche Boxster
5.BMW Z4
6.Ford Streetka
7.Honda S2000
8.Smart Forfour
9.Audi TT
10.MG MGF

London is also a car vandalism hotspot, with The London Evening Standard branding these acts as “envy attacks”, as they claim that older vehicles such as an Austin or Ford Sierra are the ones least likely to be attacked.

What can I do about it?

If you claim on your insurance in order to pay for repairs to your car following an act of vandalism, you will lose you no claims discount with most insurers. If vandalism is something you are worried about, it might be best to search for an insurance firm that will protect your no claims discount. You may be forced to pay more annually, but it will ensure that you will have the same no claims discount available to you for the next year to help lower the price of your insurance policy again.

It is a sad state of affairs that our society has sunk to these depths where people can not have a nice car without the worry of someone vandalising their property. Sadly, there is nothing that can be done to stop them and simply protecting your no claims and paying more for insurance is the only option.
